Are there any
repetition or redundancies that need to be removed? One way to reduce
the clutter is to do away with repetitious expressions usually referred
to as redundancies. We so often read redundancies like 'free gifts' or
'do not hesitate to' we give them scant attention. They are not errors;
they are unnecessary.
Does this mean that all repetition must be nullified, or that
writers should never repeat themselves? No, it does not. Strategically
repeating key words and phrases or clauses can make the intended message
clearer and more impactful.
